THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS, 2021.

In this piece, industrial imagination, the force of the ocean, and the weight of cultural and economic symbols converge. A tower–machine, part vessel and part gear, rises from the water as an ambiguous artifact: is it a fortress resisting the tide, or a shipwreck in progress? Upon its structure, the human figure leans forward in a gesture of search, as if reaching for the emblems suspended over the horizon.

 The signs —currencies, stars, moons, and crosses— hover in the sky as universal icons that shape daily life: money, power, faith, belonging. Hung like a mobile, they appear both unreachable and whimsically close. The sea, with its vast and restless waves, acts as witness and judge: engulfing the machine, reminding us that no human construction is entirely safe from the ebb and flow of time and nature.

This artwork invites reflection on the tension between the mechanical and the organic, between the will to dominate and the fragile condition of human existence.
