JUAN CARLOS CRUZ OSORIO

Biography

Juan Carlos Cruz Osorio was born in 1976, lives and works in Pompano Beach, Florida. Since graduating with an Elementary level in Fine Arts from the Holguin School of Art in Cuba in 1991, he has been involved in the art world. His major medium has been the painting and drawing.

In 2015 he decided to travel to Ecuador and started again to venture into the environment of Fine Arts. In 2016, fate once again took him to another country, the United States, where he currently resides. He achieved his highest academic standing at Miami International University of Art and Design, he graduated with a Master of Fine Arts degree.

Mr Cruz Osorio was born and raised in Holguin, Cuba where a purely cultural and tropical environment served an inspiration to start taking his first steps in the artistic world and created the basis for a future trend towards a classical and contemporary work. Juan Carlos has been exploring this meeting of style in his work through brushstrokes on the canvas of an exclusive strategy and theory derived from surrealism and resulting in his own style, something like a kind of magical realism. His work is characterized not only by the conceptual aspect, but also by the aesthetic issue, placing great emphasis on details and craft, such as the use of color, technique, etc. Through his work Juan Carlos continue to explore new frontiers and challenge conventional perceptions, making him an artist who keeps evolving and surprising his audience.

Juan Carlos has had the opportunity to participate in exhibitions such as: Quito, Ecuador in 2015; group show at the Alliance for the Art in Fort Myers, Florida in 2019; Amalgamation, at the Ancient Spanish Monastery in Miami, Florida 2021; MFA solo show at the ID Art Supply Store in Miami, Florida 2022; group exhibition Los Siete at the ID Art Lab in Miami, Florida 2023; and solo show Mystical Narrative at Kimpton Epic Hotel in Miami, Florida 2023.
